Referrals

You can access services at Get Psyched without a referral as a private client.

However, a valid referral under the Better Access initiative from a GP, psychiatrist or paediatrician attracts a Medicare rebate of $96.65 per session, for a maximum of 10 sessions a year.

Referrals must include the client’s name, DOB, address, assessed mental health condition (including provisional diagnoses), any relevant assessment or background information, request for psychological service, number of sessions requested, date, signature and the referrer’s Medicare provider number.

Referrals addressed to any practice or psychologist can be accepted, you do not need to go back to your doctor to change who the referral is addressed to.
